Shilo Foster - Secretary

I am a mom of three. I have 2 children at Cherry and one in middle school at Armour. I also have 2 Girl Scout troops that have scouts from both Cherry and Oak campuses.

What led me to volunteer for PTO? I started out volunteering as a homeroom parent and then have done shifts at dances or EIP. With 2 smaller children still in the home, I was limited on commitment. However, as they have now gotten older, I have been able to volunteer in bigger roles.

Favorite PTO event? I have two. I love Boo Bayou as it has a carnival feel. My kids enjoy seeing friends from soccer and Scouts. I also really enjoy Trivia Night. Seeing everyone in costume and who is the brains of the bunch!

Kat Kroeger Chen - Co-VP Cherry Campus

I have a 2nd and 3rd grader at Academie Lafayette. I have always enjoyed volunteering in general, so helping out with my kids school was a no-brainer for me.

There was an opportunity to be on the PTO and I felt it an honor to work alongside other PTO members, AL staff/admin to serve for the sake of our school community.

Cory Kokko - Co-VP Cherry Campus

I have 1st and 3rd grade boys at Cherry campus. I work full time so I understand the challenges of trying to be present for my kids while juggling work responsibilities. Volunteering for the PTO gives me that chance to make a difference.

I love doing class parties, volunteering at events like Boo Bayou, and organizing activities for the kids like at the Field Day. When I am not working, you can usually find me crocheting while I am listening to an audiobook or the next AL Parent Book Club meeting.

Natasha VerBrugge - Co-VP Oak Campus

What campuses are your children at? My son is at Oak.

What led you to volunteer for the PTO? I was encouraged to get involved by Mme. Werner.

Favorite memory at Académie Lafayette? The first time a student called me "Hich’s mom". It was completely unexpected and filled my heart with joy.

What would you like others to know about your PTO position? It’s been a wonderful experience connecting with so many incredible families at our unique school.

Do you volunteer in any other capacity with the school or with students? I’ve enjoyed helping out wherever I can. I started by assisting with the books and bags program, and then I was excited to help bring the chess club back to Académie Lafayette. Currently, I’m working with the administration to develop an intern ambassador program, which encourages families to host international interns in their homes to enrich their children’s education.

Trisha Gravitt Parker - VIP Dance Coordinator, MS Mixer Co-coordinator, & Armour Rep

I am a parent of an Armour 6th grader. She attended the Oak Campus for K-5th.

This is my 8th year volunteering and my 3rd year on the PTO Board. I am currently the VIP Dance Coordinator, MS Mixer Co-coordinator, & Armour Rep. I also volunteer in the Armour Uniform Closet.

During my time at Oak, I was an Oak Rep, Room Parent, volunteered for Book in the Bag, Library Readings, Generations Day, Field Day, Book Fair, Field Trip Chaperone, Thankful Lucheon, Saff Appreciate Day, & worked in the Oak Uniform Closet.

By volunteering at the school and being part of the PTO, I've had the chance to really get to know the administration, teachers, parents, and students at all of the campuses. Plus, I get to spend extra quality time with my child. I highly recommend it!

Jeremy Foster - President

I have an 8th-grade daughter at Armour who had an incredible experience on last year’s France trip, as well as a 4th-grade daughter and a 2nd-grade son at the Cherry campus. This is my second year serving as president, and I continue to be inspired by the dedication and energy our parents bring in supporting both the staff and our amazing students.

I never imagined myself in this role, but I believe it’s important for our children to see their parents actively engaged and invested in their lives. It sends a powerful message—that even small acts of involvement, when shared across a community, can make a big impact. It’s also a meaningful way to show our children just how much they matter to us and how deeply they are loved.
